謝長富教授簡介：
謝長富，男，1947年生，臺灣大學植物研究所博士畢業，現為國立臺灣大學植物學系教授。其專長為：植物生態學、植物分類學。
研究主題:
雨林生態為研究主題，研究區域包含墾丁國家公園南仁山保護區之熱帶及亞熱帶低山雨林、中部霧社北東眼山之暖溫帶雨林、及北部北插天山之暖溫帶雨林。借著永久大型樣區之設置及調查，以探討雨林之植種數量組成、種歧異度、族群結構、植種分布類型、環境條件需求、苗木更新狀態、生長及花果周期、凋落物及分解速率、營養鹽循環、林隙性質與森林更新之相關性、地被植物之組成與其在森林中之角色等。所收集之資料及調查成果，除可做為未來雨林經營及管理上之依據外，亦可定期取樣加以核對。以了解森林之動態演變過程，同時全球環境變遷所導致之影響，亦可監測出來。
